Winter in Venice — In Vegas

The real Venice has the Piazza San Marco, Palazzo Ducale, St. Mark’s Clocktower and Campanile. The Venetian Casino on the Las Vegas Strip has them, too — plus, from late November to early January, singing statues, hip hop snow bunnies, magical angels and a pulsating light and laser show synched with a towering, bubble-wrapped “tree” lit with 3,000 LEDs. Along with the musical Winter in Venice productions, which sparkled to life hourly every evening, the attraction gave skaters a chance to try the plastic-sheet rink constructed atop the casino’s outdoor gondola lagoon by scuba-certified riggers who did their work beneath the surface.
