Super Bowl XLVI: Most-Watched Ever

More than 111 million viewers tuned into NBC to watch Super Bowl XLVI and the Bridgestone Halftime Show featuring Madonna, LMFAO, M.I.A., Nicki Minaj and Cee Lo Green. The show was lit by Al Gurdon and featured a production design by Bruce Rodgers of Tribe, Inc. The show’s large cast performed Cirque du Soleil influenced-choreography on 43 modular pieces handled by some 500 stagehands. The load-in, production and load-out all happened in 27 minutes. The lighting, provided by PRG, included 204 Clay Paky Sharpy units, 442 Chroma-Q DB4 Color Blocks, 156 Vari*Lite VL3500s and 19 PRG Bad Boys. All Access Staging & Productions built the stage. Along with the headliners, choreography, lighting and staging, video played a key role. LMG Inc., which partnered with DWP Live, provided 796 tiles of BasicTech FLED io11 tiles for the stage, with video imagery complemented by projections from 32 Barco 20K HD20 projectors positioned 150 feet above a 149-by-80-foot area.
