L&E Announces Plan to Close

WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY — Lighting & Electronics, Inc. (L&E), which has served the entertainment industry since 1960, announced to its dealers its plan to close its doors.

The company expected to be scaling back its operations this fall and announced plans to sell its clamp business, including its Get-A-Grip, HangTuff and PipeDream products, to another company.

“We know we are making the right decision at the right time with few regrets,” noted John V. Fedigan, president, and Robert V. Partridge, vice president, in a letter to its dealers.

L&E also announced plans to sell its metal manufacturing production equipment in Wappingers Falls, NY over the next several months, and proceeded to sell its finished goods inventory at near cost to its dealers on a first-come, first-serve basis.
